Travelling across North America by rail promises to be a journey of a lifetime and is a fantastic way to see so many diverse places in one trip. You can enjoy city tours in many of the destinations that you stop at along the way, provided either by your own knowledgeable Tour Manager or by an expert local guide. We also offer various other exciting excursions at many destinations and these are all included within the price of our USA coast to coast tours.
Flights depart from London but there may be the option to fly from Manchester which you can discuss with one of our Tour Advisors or request online when booking your holiday. Air travel is in Economy Class but upgrades to First Class may be available for an additional supplement. Your Tour Manager greets you at your departure airport and remains with you throughout the duration of the USA coast to coast tours, taking care of all the travel and accommodation arrangements and dealing with any queries that you might have. The hotels that we stay at are selected for their location and quality of service, and you will also have the exciting opportunity to sleep onboard some of the trains in a comfortable two-berth roomette.

USA Coast to Coast at Christmas 2012Travelling across the USA from coast to coast by rail is an incredible way to see a great deal of this vast and diverse country. On the East coast we give you plenty of time to see New York and its famous sights such as Times Square, Central Park and Fifth Avenue on a tour of the city, as well as a harbour cruise that takes you around Manhattan, past the Statue of Liberty and beneath the Brooklyn Bridge. In your free time you may wish to see a show on Broadway, climb the Empire State Building or visit some of the many fascinating museums and art galleries. Also on the East coast we spend time in Washington where you can enjoy a guided tour that passes by the White House and Capitol Hill, and you might like to visit the Smithsonian - the world's largest museum complex of art, history and science.
As we travel across the USA from coast to coast on tours that stop at some major cities along the way such as Chicago and Denver. An overnight journey onboard the Capitol Limited gives you the opportunity to relax and see some spectacular scenery as you travel over the Allegheny Mountains into Ohio, Indiana and Illinois before arriving in Chicago. After spending some time there, we then board the California Zephyr for another overnight journey across the plains of Iowa and Nebraska. Arriving in Denver you will have free time to explore the city, as well as an exciting coach trip into the Rocky Mountain National Park.

Our USA coast to coast tours also take you to a number of exciting destinations on the West coast. Marvel at the notorious Grand Canyon, experience the sights and sounds of Las Vegas and take a look around Hollywood in Los Angeles, before travelling to Long Beach for an overnight stay on the famous ocean liner RMS Queen Mary. Amtrak's Coast Starlight service takes you along the picturesque Pacific coast through wine counties to San Francisco, where you can enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city and a ferry ride to the legendary island of Alcatraz and explore its prison.
